The boutique hotel and gastropub received the prestigious award at London’s Hilton this week, where the ceremony was held.
Craig Minto, chef of The Sun Inn with his parents said: “We are all so proud to be awarded Pub of the Year. The team at the Sun Inn is fantastic and everyone on board has really contributed to make it the great place that it is today. I do believe that using local produce and sourcing only the best has helped us win this award.”
The Sun Inn hotel and award-winning gastropub is situated in Lothianbridge, Midlothian. It has five lavish bedrooms which have been individually designed with a mix of both contemporary and classic styles. Each bedroom includes a plasma television, DAB digital radio, Hypnos mattresses and Egyptian cotton bed linen. The suite offers an extra special experience with luxurious interiors and a one-off bespoke copper bath tub.
The restaurant produces high quality dishes using fresh and local produce sourced locally where possible. In 2009 it was awarded an AA rosette for its gastropub menu.
