The Sun Inn in Lothianbridge, Midlothian has been named this year’s AA Pub of the Year for Scotland.

The boutique hotel and gastropub has five bedrooms featuring facilities such as plasma TVs and digital radios. The pub’s suite bedroom includes a bespoke copper bath tub.

Chef and co-owner Craig Minto said: “We are all so proud to be awarded Pub of the Year. The team at The Sun Inn is fantastic and everyone on board has really contributed to make it the great place that it is today. I do believe that using local produce and sourcing only the best has helped us win this award.”

It is the second AA award for the pub – in 2009 it received a rosette for its menu. The AA guide praises the Inn for its imaginative menu and friendly staff.
